PBS Group Signs Strategic Partnership with Firemane to Expand Payment Solutions Across the Caribbean, Central and South America.
KINGSTON, Jamaica, October 20, 2026
PBS Group has signed a strategic partnership with Firemane, a global point-of-sale terminal hardware distributor and payment technology company, to expand its payments offering across the 24 markets in which it operates.
The agreement builds on an established relationship between PBS and Firemane spanning more than a decade. Designed to accelerate payment modernisation, this next phase deepens that collaboration by expanding Firemane’s proprietary FMPOS software platform across PBS Group’s regional footprint.
FMPOS is already well established across Central America, with its payment application certified by several leading banks. The platform supports merchant acquiring solutions and large-scale POS deployments. Its multi-manufacturer architecture gives banks, acquirers and merchants the flexibility to deploy the latest Android POS hardware from multiple leading manufacturers, while accessing modern payment functionality, new features and integrated terminal management systems. Firemane also provides software development expertise and support through the application certification process.
For PBS, these capabilities strengthen its ability to build solutions around the specific needs of each financial institution, supported by local teams and expertise from across its regional network. This gives institutions greater choice in how they modernise and manage their payment environments, while supporting a better experience for merchants and their customers.
“Payment solutions represent an important area of growth for PBS as we continue to diversify our portfolio and expand what we can offer our customers,” said Pedro Paris, CEO, PBS Group. “Our partnership with Firemane strengthens our payments capabilities and enhances our integrated portfolio spanning seven business areas. It is another step in bringing together the technologies and expertise our customers need from a single, trusted partner.”
The partnership complements PBS’s existing payments portfolio, adding FMPOS’s merchant acquiring and POS capabilities alongside physical card supply and card issuance solutions. Together, these solutions allow PBS to address a broader range of payment requirements for financial institutions.
Paddy Neill, CEO of Firemane, said the agreement builds on the companies’ longstanding relationship.
“We’ve worked with PBS for more than a decade, so this is a natural next step in our relationship. PBS has significant scale across the region, strong local teams, and longstanding relationships with many of the financial institutions across the region. By combining that reach with Firemane’s payment technology, software, and global hardware capabilities, we have a real opportunity to accelerate the deployment of modern payment solutions across Latin America and the Caribbean” said Paddy Neill, CEO of Firemane.
